Saxon Algebra 1/2 (Pre-Algebra)
Required Text: Saxon Algebra 1/2, 3rd edition
ISBN-10: 1565771494
ISBN-13: 9781565771499
The homestudy pack includes all the materials necessary for the student to follow the classroom lectures and complete all daily homework and test assignments. Included in the pack are one textbook, answer key and student test pack.
This book is used in the 7th grade by advanced students and in the 8th grade for students on a normal math track. Many states allow students who are not as proficient in math to take pre-algebra as a high school credit toward graduation, provided they are in the ninth grade in all other courses.
Students should complete this textbook before attempting Algebra I, unless they earned a 'B' or higher in the new Saxon 87, or in an equivalent eighth grade level math book from a reputable publisher, as that is almost always pre-algebra, even when not labeled as such.
Saxon Algebra I

ISBN-13: 9781565771352
The homestudy pack includes all the materials necessary for the student to follow the classroom lectures and complete all daily homework and test assignments. Included in the pack are one textbook, answer key and student test pack.
This course counts as a full credit in Algebra I and most schools accept 1/2
credit in Plane Geometry, even if taken by a student who has not yet entered high school. Geometric proofs and a solid foundation in geometry are provided if both the Algebra I and Algebra II texts are completed, which is sufficient for students to advance to higher mathematics courses like College Algebra, Trigonometry, Probability and Statistics, etc. However, students who plan a career that requires advanced proofs like engineering should consider adding a Formal Geometry course to their academic plan.
